Truck freight ticks up but remains below its post-pandemic peak.
Total: Freight activity in total rose to its highest level ever in the spot market, but seasonal expectations kept the index about 5% below the peak during the week ended September 4.
Dry Van: The Dry Van segment also posted its strongest absolute volume during the week, but the index fell nearly 5% short of the peak achieved during the week before Labor Day.
Refrigerated: Temperature-controlled posted its second-strongest index reading since the March restocking peak. The index is about 6% below the peak for the week ending September 4.
Flatbed: The Flatbed segment held essentially flat during the latest week and stands at about 7% below the post-pandemic peak during the week ending September 18.
